By accessing or using OpenInbox ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service, whether with or without a registered account.
2. Service Description
OpenInbox provides temporary, disposable email addresses for receiving emails. Key service characteristics:
- The Service is receive-only — you cannot send emails
- Email addresses and their contents are temporary and will be deleted
- Free accounts have limited features and shorter retention periods
- Premium subscriptions offer extended features and longer retention
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may use OpenInbox to:
- Receive verification emails and confirmation codes
- Sign up for newsletters and promotions
- Test your own applications and services
- Protect your personal email from spam
- Any other legitimate, lawful purpose
4. Prohibited Activities
You agree NOT to use the Service for:
- Illegal activities: Any activity that violates local, state, national, or international law
- Fraud: Creating fake accounts, identity theft, or financial fraud
- Harassment: Stalking, threatening, or harassing others
- Spam: Using our service to facilitate spam operations
- Malware: Distributing viruses, malware, or malicious code
- Bypassing security: Circumventing account restrictions or security measures
- Abuse: Excessive use that degrades service for others
- Illegal content: Receiving content that is illegal in your jurisdiction
Violation of these terms may result in immediate termination of your access, deletion of your data, and potential reporting to law enforcement authorities.
5. Account Terms
5.1 Account Creation
- You may use the Service anonymously without creating an account
- Account registration requires a valid email address
- You must provide accurate information during registration
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
5.2 Account Security
- Use a strong, unique password
- Enable two-factor authentication when available
- Do not share your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
6. Premium Subscriptions
6.1 Billing
- Premium plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
- Payments are processed securely through Lemon Squeezy
- All prices are in USD unless otherwise specified
- Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice
6.2 Cancellation
- You may cancel your subscription at any time
- Access continues until the end of the current billing period
- No refunds will be provided for partial billing periods
6.3 Refunds
All sales are final. Please carefully review the plan features and pricing before subscribing. You can cancel your subscription at any time to prevent future charges, but no refunds will be issued for the current billing period.
7. API Terms
If you use our API (available to Pro and Business subscribers):
- API access is subject to rate limits based on your plan
- You must not share your API keys
- You must not use the API to compete with OpenInbox
- We may suspend API access for excessive use or abuse
- API availability is not guaranteed; we may change or discontinue features
8. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by OpenInbox and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of any content you receive through the Service. We claim no intellectual property rights over the content of emails you receive.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Implied warranties of merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Uninterrupted or error-free service
- Security of your data
We do not guarantee that emails will be delivered or that the Service will be compatible with all email senders. Some services may block temporary email addresses.
10. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL OPENINBOX, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION:
- Loss of profits, data, or other intangibles
- Cost of substitute goods or services
- Any matter beyond our reasonable control
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless OpenInbox and its licensees, licensors, employees, contractors, agents, officers, and directors from any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Any content you receive through the Service
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by:
- Posting the new Terms on our website
- Updating the "Last updated" date
- Sending email notification to registered users
Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
